ZINDA campaign to
kick off with a unique music video
Filmmaker
Sanjay Gupta has planned an innovative way to
kick off the promotional campaign of his
ambitious forthcoming venture, ZINDA. The
campaign will start with a special five-minute
video of the track, ‘Yeh hai meri kahaani’
which will begin airing on November 20 on
M.T.V.. The track rendered by Faisal Kapadia
and Bilal Maqsood of the reckoned Pakistani
band, Strings, also has Sanjay Dutt mouthing a
few lines, besides John Abraham, who has
delivered words on the musical beats. However
the video that has been shot in an old
recording studio in black and white, will have
no film visuals. According to Gupta the idea
of initiating the campaign with a music video
is to take viewers by surprise by going
against the usual norms of having teasers and
clippings.
Interestingly, the above track is not part of
the film, as one would expect since the film
is a song-less thriller.
.
Besides
‘Yeh hai meri kahaani’ there’s another solo
track ‘Kabhi muskurana’ that has been rendered
by Sanjay Dutt, for which he has also
co-composed the music with music directors
Vishal and Shekhar. This is the third time
Dutt has rendered his voice for his friend
Sanjay Gutpa’s film, the earlier two being
KAANTE and MUSAFIR. What’s more, DJ Nikhil
Chinappa, along with a team of musicians from
London, is remixing and reproducing a club
version of the two individual tracks. Gupta
started the trend with his film, MUSAFIR and
has continued it ever since for the music of
all his films.
ZINDA stars
Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham, Lara Dutta, Celina
Jaitley and Mahesh Manjrekar and is scheduled
for a January 13 release.
